Jim Martin of Lake Stevens, WA founded Divot Dog in 2004.

Jim and his wife Tammy are avid golfers and have traveled the US enjoying the sport they love. Being an accomplished golfer for quite some time, he has always noticed how the courses he plays are maintained.

After playing a course with an epidemic of divots on all the tees and fairways he asked the golf course superintendent why this was such a problem. "Its simple" the superintendent said, "we don't have enough man power, time, or money to keep up with this problem". That night Jim and his wife were discussing the superintendents’ problem when the idea occurred to him. Fast and furious, Jim sketched out his plan.

The next thing you know... Divot Dog was born.
